Typing Test- This is my typing test it was really hard.  But I think it was quite a good score. 

KKN- This week I got 100% In My Kiwi Kids News Quiz. I didn't find of them wrong.

Literacy Reflection W6T4

Literacy- This week for literacy we have been learning why we have wisdom teeth and we did a explanation burger about it.  We also have to add another 3 things onto the doc that we have been doing. We also did a word cloud about the key words in the wisdom teeth writing. Here are my DLOs!!!!

Word Work- This week for word work I deiced to do Mixed Words Here is my DLO. 


Writing- This week for writing I did 2 things one about the big earthquake that we had and one about a made up myth that I made up about a Dragon. Here they are. 

Dragon Myth

Once Upon a Time there was a little baby dragon that just hatched out of it’s egg. It’s name was Ivy the magnificent and one day she was going to save the world. When she was 3 she set off the find somewhere to build a house.

One day she got a call from her mum “Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww”. Her Mum called. She went straight to her Mums house, she told Ivy that she had to save someone.

Ivy went to the person's house and their was a fire and she was so scared and she didn’t know what to do. So she called her Mum to help her but her Mum didn’t get their in time. Ivy had to do it herself so she did and she saved 4 people's life (witch were the only people who were in the house.

I was fast asleep until… Their was a massive noise BANG!! It sounded like a truck crashing into our house. Then the Earthquake started I called out to my Dad and he said "Get up and hide under the table," and I woke Pyper up and we ran out into the lounge and got under our breakfast bar Me my Mum and Pyper all were so scared and my Dad was not under the table he was walking around and checking if everything was OK.

I think it was like 3 and a half minutes later the Earthquake finished and I jumped into Mum and Dad's bed because I was very very scared that their was going to be another one. Then Mum rang lots of people to check if they were OK and safe. After that we looked up what point it was and what place it was in. It was a 7.5 and it was just out of Hanmer Springs in Cheviot.

In Nelson and Christchurch people had to evacuate and we know lots of people who live in those places. I think that the big Earthquake had something to do with the Super Moon that comes here in November!

Numeracy/Topic- This week for Numeracy we have been doing google maps. Me and Kyra did Tsunamis and we had to put pins down were the top 13 tsunamis in the world. Here it is.

Literacy Reflection Week 4

Literacy- This week for literacy we had to write 3 paragraphs about being in a jungle that had never been found before and 1 of them had to be entertaining someone 1 of them to inform someone and one of them to persuade. Here is some of my work if you wan to read more then click the link.

Once upon a time their was a jungle that had never been explored before and I decided to go into the jungle to have a look what was inside when I went in there were 2 paths one said Snakes and one said Bears. I decided to choose the bear one…

Writing- This week for writing I had to draw a character out of a Myth or Legend and I chose a unicorn and wrote what I knew about unicorns. Here is my drawing.

Numeracy Reflection Week 4

Numeracy- This week for numeracy we have been doing our problem solving slide that we started at the start of the year. Here are a couple of the activities that I did. 

Topic Reflection Week 4 ( Main Star)

Topic- This week we have been working on water safety again. I have already put my other drawings on my blog so here are the things I did this week. I learnt lots doing this video! I also made my flotation device. This is also main star. 

Book Week 2016

This week was Book Week we have done some really excited stuff and I'm going to tell you about some of them.

On Thursday we had Wacky "Wednesday" due to a special occasion and everyone dressed up as wacky as they could I looked like I had to doughnut in my hair! I think that everyone's wacky look was awesome! When we got to school we all showed each other our wacky dos and then we carried on with our normal day with things around our school that were a bit crazy!

On Tuesday we did buddy reading with our buddy classes which are room 6 and room 15. My buddy is Indie from room 6 she is so cute and she is great at reading and listening to reading. We read All Pigs are Cute and 3 Little Bears. Indie read 3 Little Bears and I read All Pigs are Cute. When Indie had to leave she gave me a massive hug.

Everyday this week we have had 1 Golden Ticket that Mrs Costello has put out around the School for us to find. Syndicate 4 is really good at finding them. I haven't found one yet, but Callum has found one. If you find one of the Golden Tickets you have to take it to Mrs Costello and she will give you your prize. The prize is normally lots of awesome books. I hope I find one next time.

 Book Character Day! Book Character Day is where you have to dress up as one of your favorite book character. I chose Harriet Manners out of the Book Series Geek Girl. She looks like a geek and I wore a white blouse a brace, badges,  my school pants and geeky glasses. In the morning we have a assembly where everyone gets up on the stage and say what character they are and what book they are out of.  I said " I am Harriet Manners Out of the book series Geek Girl." At the assembly the teachers always surprise us  with what costumes they are going to wear and then they put on a show for us. This year they dressed up as Harry Potter and all of the team of Harry Potter.

Also This week we had a competition in the Library and if you got a book out on this week you got to chose how many worms were in the jar. I guessed 1006 but I dont think it was right because everyone else put some number in the hundreds.

For book week we made a door display for both of our doors one of them is the BFG and one of them was Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. We made a big massive BFG with materials, but we only done the butt and the legs we haven't done the head. Jacob kindly brought in some potions that his Mum and Dad made for him and we made his potions as dreams because the BFG makes children`s dreams and then give them to the kids. For Charlie and the Chocolate we made an Oompa Loompa and also on our door we have chocolate wrappers.  

I have had an awesome week and I can not wait to have book week again next year I think I am going to be Harriet Manners' Friend Amy next time. 

Reflection Week 2

Topic: This week have been studying countries and athletes who are competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics.We had to do 3 google drawings of each I think I have done pretty well. 
My next step learning is to get more information about my athletes! We were only allowed to pick athletes that live is NZ. The first athlete I chose was Lisa Carrington here she is! 

Lisa Carrington is a canoe sprinter and she is very good at canoe sprinting!

Now Valerie Adams! She is an awesome shot putter! 

  















Finally for Lydia Ko!! She is awesome at golf! It will be her first time at the Olympics and she is 19!!

Now for the countries here is Guatemala! This is a country that is very good at shooting!

Here is Jamaica! Where Usian Bolt lives! He is my favorite athlete.

I am now presenting Djibouti witch isn`t a common country!

Create A Brochure Mainstars

For Main stars we had to create a brochure about a Group/Charity and I chose the Ronald McDonald House because it is a really helpful charity. Here it is! I also printed some out to bring in and show you guys!!

Boy Gets Killed!
1. I found an artical on stuff about a boy that has been killed by his mums friend. His mum was going to star ship hospital to see her other boy that was very sick and she left her other kids a boy and a girl with her friend that she trusted the most. They were staying at her house for 2 months and the girl was 7 and the boy was only 2. The kids were doing fine until the little boy accidentally broke a window and their mums friend got angry. The Mum rang to cheek if the kids were alright and Tania (the mums friend) said that everything was fine and the kids were fine. When the Mum hung up Tania got so mad she killed the little boy. The 7 year old girl rang her mum straight away and told her everything that happend. I liked this artical because it had lots of detail in it and lots of information. I feel really sad about this artical because the boy didn`t deserve to die.

Stupid Man Uses Kayak to Get over the Bar!!!
2. I also found another artical on stuff about a silly old man who went over the bar in the sea on a kayak. Someone was videoing him and then when the person that was videoing zoomed in on him he saw the the person in the kayak was in danger he quikley contacted the rescue services and they came to the rescue. The person that was videoing put the video on face book and it has have over 40,0000 views already! I feel really weird about this artical and I think that this man is really stupid.

Old People to Old to Drive??
3. I found an artical on people that are getting to old to drive and they are forgetting to put heir seat belts on. This artical says that the police are pulling lots of elderly people up and having to make them pay $70 for not wearing their seat belts. Police are still deciding weather they should have a restricted age that you are aloud to drive until and then you have to quit driving. I feel kind of sorry for the elderly because some of them don`t forget and that would be sad for them if they had to quit driving.
